Shipping policy

Rocky Mountain Imports ships WORLDWIDE.  We hold stock both in Japan and in North America.

FOR ITEMS IN JAPAN STOCK:

  • STANDARD SHIPPING: Standard shipping is a Sea freight shipping method. It is the lowest cost shipping but is also very slow and can take from 8 to 16 weeks as it is dependent on Sea liner schedules. DO NOT use this shipping method for time critical items as you may be disappointed with the shipping time frame.
  • JAPAN AIR: This is a much faster shipping method for items from Japan. Air freight usually takes from 2 to 4 weeks depending on stock availability.

FOR ITEMS IN OUR CANADIAN STOCK:

  • STANDARD SHIPPING: Standard shipping is a 2-5 business days service to most parts of North America. Deliveries worldwide outside of this area usually take about 2 weeks.

FOR ITEMS IN CONTAINER FREIGHT TO NORTH AMERICA:

  • STANDARD SHIPPING: These items are already loaded in a Shipping Container sailing from Japan to Canada. We try to have containers leave Japan every 10-12 weeks.  Please note that our shipping schedule has been greatly affected by Covid19.  We are doing our best to get back to a regular schedule.  Once the container is unloaded, Standard shipping is a 2-5 business days service to most parts of North America. Deliveries worldwide outside of this area usually take about 2 weeks. 

** SPECIAL NOTES ** :

  • FOR ORDERS CONTAINING ITEMS FROM BOTH CANADA & JAPAN
    Your Canadian based items will be sent via the fastest method available, i.e. 2-5 business days service in North America. Your Japan based items will be shipped based on your selection of Standard Shipping or Japan Air as per the shipping methods above.
  • FOR OVERSIZE ITEMS LIKE ENGINES AND BODY PIECES
    If you are ordering an oversize item like an engine or body pieces, the shipping time will vary substantially depending on where you are. If you need a precise delivery period please contact us for details.
  • FOR WINDSHIELDS
    If you are ordering a windshield, the shipping time will vary substantially depending on where you are. If you need a precise delivery period please contact us for details.  Windshields will be crated at an additional cost.  Rocky Mountain Imports is not responsible for any windshields broken during shipping.  Most carriers WILL NOT insure glass.  We do our best to package it as best possible.  We do not have many windshields broken during shipping, but it happens. Pictures are taken of windshield before shipping, packed in the crate and of the crate before it is picked up by the carrier.

 

Rocky Mountain Imports operates a regular container shipping service from Japan to North America with a container from Tokyo every 8 to 10 weeks. We can offer you a shared space in our shipping container allowing you to ship your heavy/bulky items from Japan in the safest and most cost effective way. We unload our containers in Canada and forward shipping to your address through our North American logistics network covering all regions.
